All borrowers are responsible for returning items in a timely manner. To assist you with returning your materials:
Students, Faculty, Staff: An overdue notice will be sent to your Tri-C email.
Community Patrons: An overdue notice will be sent to the email address provided to us when you received your card.
Overdue Fines
Circulating Items
Good news! We automatically waive overdue fines for regularly circulating Tri-C, OhioLINK, and SearchOHIO materials when they are returned within two years of their original due date (but please be kind to other students and don't actually keep them that long!).
Overdue Reserve Items and Equipment
You will be fined for late return of:
- Course reserves ($.50 per hour)
- Equipment (calculators, laptops, etc.) ($5.00 per hour).
Overdue Materials
When an item is overdue for 30 days, Tri-C places a hold on your student account. If your account is on hold, you cannot: register for classes, get enrollment verification or transcripts, graduate.
Lost or Damaged Materials - Replacement copies
You may be able to avoid being billed for the replacement cost of an item by providing us with a replacement copy of the lost or damaged item. If you would like to provide a replacement copy for a lost item, please contact your campus library.
Replacement items must:
- Be new or Very Good used condition (clean, unmarked, and untorn with an intact spine and binding) or better. Former library copies are generally not acceptable.
- Match the lost item to the satisfaction of the librarian on duty, based on the following criteria: title; author; editor; edition; pagination; ISBN or ISSN
NOTE: OhioLINK and SearchOHIO items may not be eligible for replacement. If you've lost an OhioLINK or SearchOHIO item and would like to provide a replacement copy, contact your campus library.
Replacement Fees
Items not returned within 2 years of their due date are automatically billed and sent to the Ohio Attorney General for collections.
