ENG 1010 - Hoppe: Finding Books

Tips for Searching

  • Use keyword searching
  • Remember to use AND or OR
  • Avoid phrases

Examples:

  • Kennedy and Oswald
  • Osama Bin Laden and Taliban
  • (Privacy or Security) and Invasion

Library Catalogs

Use Tri-C's online catalog to find books about your topic.

Use a Keyword search

 Example: kennedy and assassination

This will retrieve books that contain the both "Kennedy" and "assassination".

Please note that the books may or may not be *about* President Kennedy's assassination.  It just could be that the record contained the name for another reason, like in the title, as the author, or table of contents.
