Argumentative Essay - Finding Common Ground

Due date: July 25, 2016

Topic: 2016 Republican National Convention, taking place in Cleveland from July 18-21

Find opposing viewpoints on an aspect of this convention. Analyze each article. Look for passages where the opposing arguments are presented. Examine the analysis of the points of disagreement and potential agreement.

The essay will begin with an introduction which explains the issue under debate. Each essay will then describe the two sources and the stand that each takes. Remember, each of the chosen essays will disagree with each other. You will want to describe the stance of each. You will then describe in what way they agree.

  • Use quotations
  • Minimum of 3 pages
    • Typed
    • Double-spaced
    • Times New Roman
    • 12-point font
    • 1" margins
